Preparing for China's Aging Challenge
CSIS Global Aging Initiative (GAI) has released Preparing for China’s Aging Challenge, a CD featuring commentaries by an array of distinguished authorities, from Carla Hills to Henry Kissinger. Children in China outnumbered the elderly six to one as recently as 35 years ago. But 35 years from now, the ratio will be two to one—the other way around. The CD, which explores how this stunning demographic transformation will reshape China and its role in the world, supplements The Graying of the Middle Kingdom, a major 2004 CSIS report on China’s aging challenge. Graying can be download (in English or Chinese translation) at www.csis.org/gai/Watch the Video>
